Usage:
Dimethylfuran is widely used as solvent. It also can be used for synthetizing pentylene, pentadiol, acetyl, propyl aslcohol and 2-methyl-tetrahydrofuran. In pharmaceuticals industry, dimethylfuran is used for synthetizing vitamin B1, chloroquine phosphate, primaquine phosphate, etc.
